Is S2Panel free?+
Yes — S2Panel is self-hosted with no per-server or per-account license fee. You bring the servers; the panel runs on them and everything it manages is yours.
What do I need to run it?+
A fresh Ubuntu or Debian VPS. The one-line installer sets up the control panel and its services; adding more servers to the fleet is another single command per box.
Does it replace cPanel or aaPanel?+
It covers the same ground — websites, DNS, SSL, email, databases, file management, backups — with a modern interface, and adds multi-server fleet management that traditional per-box panels don't.
Can I add servers behind NAT or a firewall?+
Yes. Each node runs a pull-agent that dials the control panel and claims work — nothing connects inbound to the server, so no ports need opening and no SSH keys are shared.
Can I resell hosting on my own brand?+
That's a core use case. Run your own ns1/ns2 nameservers, brand the panel, and give each customer their own sites, mailboxes, DNS and backups.
Where does my data live?+
On your servers, always. S2Panel is the software that runs your infrastructure — there's no external service holding your sites, databases or customer data.
